I just installed an ASP underdrive pulley, new Nissan belts (thanks, CZP!), and an overdrive water pump pulley (thanks, YugoBernie!). Slightly off-topic, but because of the slightly lighter pulley weight, belt package inclusion, and negligible $15 difference, if I were to do it again, I'd get the UR pulley from CZP - less hassle, barely more money, and supporting a great shop. Anyway, the interesting part is how we ended up breaking the crank pulley bolt. As you probably know, it's ON there (165 ft/lbs. of torque). And I'm not a big guy. So, instead of pull a muscle or blow a forehead vein, we hooked up my bro-in-law's engine hoist and popped it that way. Link to pictures With the belt set I got from CZP, the alternator tensioner is maxed out. If it starts slipping at all (hasn't yet), I'll have to get a smaller belt. The results are great. Wrenching on the Z was a blast, taught me a lot about it (including issues I now need to address), and got me over that initial barrier. Plus, the performance gain is nice. Thanks to all the helpful people and posts here - without them, I wouldn't know what an underdrive crank pulley was, how to install one, or probably have the guts to attempt it. Thanks again, all.
